The White Rabbit Princess and the Lake

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful kingdom. In the kingdom lived a White Rabbit Princess. She had snow-white fur, round eyes, and a tiny crown. Everyone said she was the loveliest animal in the kingdom.

But gradually, the White Rabbit Princess became proud. She thought that because she was beautiful and important, she should have the best things, and even stop others from coming near the places she liked.

One day, the White Rabbit Princess went to a small lake in the forest. The water was so clear that it reflected her beautiful image. As she was admiring herself, she suddenly heard a “croaking” sound from the lakeside.

A frog was singing.

“That’s horrible!” the White Rabbit Princess frowned. “Be quiet! Don’t sing here!”

The frog said sadly, “The lake belongs to everyone. I also have the freedom to sing.”

The White Rabbit Princess didn’t listen and chased the frog away.

The next day, she returned to the lake and saw a crow drinking water. She became angry again. “Dark crow, don’t dirty the water! Go away!”

The crow didn’t argue and quietly flew away.

After that, the White Rabbit Princess often guarded the lake and stopped other animals from coming near. “This is my lake,” she said. “Only I may use it.”

Day after day, the animals in the forest became afraid of her. When they saw the White Rabbit Princess from a distance, they quickly hid. The lakeside became quieter and quieter, and the White Rabbit Princess grew lonelier.

One day, she came to the lake again and saw a little mouse drinking water. She rushed over angrily, “Dirty mouse! How dare you drink my lake! Disappear!”

The little mouse didn’t run away. Instead, he bravely looked up and said, “The lake belongs to everyone. You have no right to keep it for yourself. You are a princess, so you should protect the weak, not bully them.”

The White Rabbit Princess froze. She looked into the little mouse’s determined eyes, then glanced at the empty lakeside. Suddenly, she felt very sad. She remembered the frog’s song, the crow’s visit, and the lively forest there used to be.

“I was really wrong,” she said softly.

From that day on, the White Rabbit Princess no longer chased other animals away. She invited the frog to sing by the lake, allowed the crow to drink water, and asked the little mouse to help guard the lake. She also joined the animals in cleaning the fallen leaves and rubbish, making the lake cleaner and more beautiful.

The animals were very happy to see the White Rabbit Princess change.

The frog sang joyful songs, the crow drank water gently by the lake, and the little mouse brought friends to tidy the grass. The White Rabbit Princess finally understood: true beauty is not having the best things all to yourself, but being willing to share them with others.

Later, all the animals in the forest became the White Rabbit Princess’s friends. She was never lonely again.

A high position does not give anyone the right to bully others. Being beautiful does not mean you can take public places for yourself. Only by respecting others and sharing kindly can we gain true friendship.
